ci kb How to Restart a Platform Server Carefully

DSI® Cloud Inventory® Platform (“Platform”) versions 7, 8, and 9.

If you have a joined instance production system, here is an ultra-safe way to restart your system under any circumstances.

Stop Agents & Services And Restart Servers

  • Log into the license-owner Platform URL from a browser.
  • Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Agent Settings.
  • For each Platform server and Agent that is set to “Run continuously”:
    • Click “Edit Schedule”
    • Choose a Platform Server
    • Select “Manual start” option in the “Frequency” section.
    • Click “Save” button.
  • Navigate to Monitor > System Monitor.
  • Confirm that all Agents are stopped.
  • Logout of Platform.
  • For each Platform server in the joined instance (leaving the Platform license-owner server for last):
    • Log into the server.
    • Open Windows “Services” app.
    • Stop DSIManager service.
    • If the DSIManager service is set to start “Automatic”, change it to “Manual” start.
